No — no driving licence is required to join our tours or rent from us. Hungarian law doesn’t require a licence for electric scooters, and you don’t need any prior experience. They’re easy to handle, and every ride starts with a short training and practice session so you feel confident before we set off.
Comfort is key during your ride. Riding an e-scooter means it can get windy during the ride, so we recommend wearing layered clothing. High heel shoes and short skirts are not recommended.
Please note that bookings are valid whether rain or shine, but don’t worry: we can provide rain ponchos if it rains, and warm gloves when it gets cold.
Our guided routes use Budapest’s bike lanes and quiet, traffic-calmed streets wherever possible — it’s by far the safest and most enjoyable way to see the city, and it’s where we’ll take you. We recommend sticking to the same routes on a self-guided ride, and our team will show you exactly where to go before you set out.
Worth knowing: Hungary’s traffic code doesn’t currently define electric scooters as a vehicle category, and the government is working on new rules. We follow the situation closely and will always brief you on where to ride.
